Kelly has been working with our 15 year old son Christopher since October 2006 Christopher has severe learning difficulties together with motor planning problems. Kelly introduced to us the use of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) with Christopher and has provided advice and support about the system both to us as parents and to his class teachers at the special school he goes to in Leiden. The system involves Christopher initiating communication by choosing symbols representing wishes e.g. food or ideas e.g. music/tv and passing them to a helper and immediately getting his choice as a reinforcement of his actions.

She works with Christopher two or three times a week using ABA/DTT whilst monitoring and recording his achievements. Kelly has also helped design a structured approach to the toilet training of Christopher in conjunction with the special school in Leiden that Christopher attends. She provides support and gives advice to us on how to encourage Christopher to put into practice some of the skills he has now learnt, such as switching on the tv whenever he wants!

We find Kelly to be professional, helpful and dedicated and value highly her contribution to the care and development of Christopher.

Kelly has worked with our 5 year old daughter from summer 2009. As we were new to whole Dutch system, we struggled to get right kind of care. Our experience with previous childcare center was not a good one and I was desperate to find the right kinds of supports. And she is exactly someone we wanted- professional, dedicated, creative and loves our daughter!

Kelly makes reports every time after a session which became a resource to return to when I face the problem with my daughter. She also provided useful information regarding PECS, sensory integration theraphy, toilet training, play ideas with other siblings. She made programes for our morning and going outside which was a nightmare. But with her intervention, the situations have improved very much.

But what I learned most is to be firm in what I do raising my child. We treasure working with her and we hope to work more years with her!

Kelly Redden, from SAS (Specialized Autism Services) was introduced to me by a good friend with also a girl with special needs in August 2007. Since September 2007 she is working with my son Noah.

Noah has been diagnosed at the age of 3 with a disorder within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (Classic Autism) with both a non-verbal cognitive as a developmental delay. He attended a KDC (Children’s Day-care Centre) from May 2005 until August 2008 and now started to go to a special school from September 2008 on.

Kelly Redden made a complete assessment of Noah in 2007 and implements this intervention plan at our home and started with 2 session of 2 hours a week. The goals for Noah to meet are included in this ABA/DTT (Applied Behavior Analysis and Discrete Trial Training)) based intervention plan. The plan shows to be dynamic, because after each mastered skill by Noah, it is altered with new goals. All his achievements are filed in a complete data collection notebook in which you can observe his progress every time. We also increased the number of sessions from 2 times to 3 times a week for two hours.

During the year Noah is working with Kelly he has built up many skills, he did not have before. His attention span increased a lot, cooperation, fine motor skills, academic knowledge including a significant improvement in his attitude and behaviour and best of Noah loves to work with her.

As Noah’s mother I followed the PECS training (Picture Exchange Communication System) in April 2008 and she provided advice and support to implement this. Noah has picked this up in a fast way and uses this to initiate communication by choosing symbols representing wishes as food, activities or needs by passing a sentence strip to someone. This system is also used at school already and gives him the opportunity to tell us what is on his mind.

I find Kelly Redden to be a very positive spirit, who works with her heart, is dedicated and uses her expertise in a very professional way. She is driven to let your child develop to his best. She also advises, supports you and tries to help you to stay on the right track as a parent. (For we all know how hard that is). In short; Everything she does is focused to be in the best interest of Noah.

I can encourage every parent, who wants to have a to-the-point and dynamic intervention plan to help develop your child with realistic goals by a professional with many different fields of expertise to get in contact with Kelly. She certainly is a very good option to get it done.

A “Thank you, Kelly” does not cover the whole package and we will certainly go on with the care she is given to Noah as we find this to be complete. We both, Noah and me, enclosed her in our hearts, besides the professional relationship that we have with her.

For nearly a year Kelly Lynn Redden has provided behavioral therapy for my 5-year-old son, who was recently diagnosed with autism. My child has made significant gains and I plan to continue to use her services to help him overcome his disability and have a better future.

Time and again Kelly has shown herself to be a dedicated therapist who is not only well trained and capable, but also caring. I am pleased to recommend her to other families who have a child with an autism spectrum disorder.

One of the many ways that Kelly has helped our family is by providing advice on how to deal with behavior problems on our own. Among other things, this has helped our son to conquer his fears of everyday objects such as telephones, public toilets, plants, cats, and dogs.

In her work, she keeps written documentation of a child’s progress. To any parent who is interested, I would be happy to give examples of how my son has improved in the past year in terms of fine motor skills, thinking, social interaction, and speech.
