In-home Programme Design and Development
The intervention programme is normally conducted at the child’s home at an agreed upon time. It is also possible to incorporate Individual Education Plans (IEP) and/or school goals within the child’s in-home programme. Play goals are also targeted through a number of different modalities, such as sibling and parent training and peer education. SAS’s early intervention model focuses on building functional skills in the areas of communication, social, and play skills. These core areas are critical targets for early intervention and future development for children with autism. A combination of interventions will be used in order to meet the needs of each individual child.
Tutor Training
A comprehensive training programme is available for tutors employed by individual families. This is usually done after the family has hired the appropriate number of tutors for their child’s programme.
Parent Education
Parents are an integral part of their child’s programme and are required to participate in training sessions. Alternatively, if you prefer you may request individual training separate from the group training session.
Sibling Training
Training for the child’s siblings is also available. This could greatly improve the generalization of skills learned throughout the child’s programme.
